Need Prop PITCH .. Help!

This prop stuff is boggling my already A.D.D Mind. I have a 2003 Tracker Targa 17 with a 90 ELPTO. 30 Gallon gas tank. I generally have one other on board, two at the most unless tubing. I know when tubing I need to go down in pitch. Got that. I am currently running at 5700-5900 wide open rpm and cannot trim up at all. It has a 19 pitch factory aluminum. I want the most speed without straining the motor. Can I go to a 21 pitch? if so... What aluminum prop would you reccomend I try. I saw the Hustler is only 80 bucks. Are they a waste of money? Thanks alot, I really appreciated your help.
P.S. Once I find a good pitch/size etc.. I am investing in a stainless.

You want to keep that motor down around 5500. I'd go with the 21..

I'd look at a 21 3 blade Stiletto. You could go with a Turbo but to get the most out of it you'd, most likely, need to raise the motor. I'm concerned that at that point the aluminum would be useless. And obviously you need to keep that for the tubing etc.

No, they're not "junk", but they run quite a bit different than most aluminum props in that they pull hard, yet don't show the speed.

Re: Need Prop PITCH .. Help!

Some claim the Hustler...my data has shown the OMC aluminums to be right at the top in comparison to MWC and mercury alums.
In 17P, my fastest top-end was with a 391199 13-1/4X17 in 13 spline, and the 391200, 15X17 was the fastest in 15 spline.
19P, believe it or not, a Propco alum topped the list.
21P the 391202 and the Black Diamond XT 14-1/4X21 was about the same, both at the top.
I haven't ran anything over 21P in 13 spline because of my altitude and that boat/engine combo. I didn't get very good numbers out of the 12-3/4X21 because the diameter just would not allow enough heigth.
"If it were mine......" I'd go the short cost more and go with a Stiletto in ss and go have fun....

The Hustler and Propco are the same price. The propco is cupped? Anyway I think I am going to go with the propco 19p.

The propco is cupped or un-cupped...you can buy it either way...make SURE you get the cupped prop.
