Need rough $ estimate for '98 115 Rude SPL

Any ideas what this engine is worth?

The compression is cold:
120psi top and lower Capt side,
118 psi top and lower pass side.

The lower unit oil came out with no water, it was green with some fine metalic in it. Stunk like gear oil should.

I heard run with muffs. But I couldn't tell anything from that but noise and smoke.

It had a 3 blade prop with this mumber on it: G 1074

I took other pics if it would help

If all of the motor was in "good" working order no more than a 1.5-2k. Without actually being there it'd be hard to guess. I'd be wary of the lower unit. I doubt anyone here is going to give you a solid number without going over the motor itself.

If your suspicious about anything, pass on it. Or if you have a nautical wrench you can trust, take it for an eval.

If possible, you need to see what it does under load in the water. Running on muffs just does not provide a good enough performance test.

I agree, make it scream under a load. That always tells the tale, well almost always.

fine metallic is normal, from the slow engagement of the clutch dog... the shift into and out of gear should be swift and deliberate to cut down wear. the old let's listen to them mesh only add excessive wear. i want a test run, and then do a good decarb on the motor, and change the impeller.. the numbers are not bad. they are even on all four. in Fla $2500 tops. look for blistered paint
