On a carbureted 5.0 mercruiser, 2004, with alpha 1 outdrive. Problem is it won't power past about 2000 rpms. Worked fine a few weeks ago. Still starts and idles smooth and normal. It will rev up fine under no load. It seemed to me like it was fuel starvation, so I popped off the fuel line at the carb and rigged a test harness to the fuel pump. It put out 48 oz. in 30 seconds, by my math that looks to be about 45 gal. per hour. So it seems the usual things like clogged filter or anti siphon valve are eliminated. Before I tear into the carb, does anyone have other suggestions for me to check? Anything I may have missed?

Thanks in advance,
Rich
