need smaller jets

i have an 1988 4.3 omc that came from ohio runs good but lacks a lil in top end i was under the impression i wouldnt need to change the jets in my carb untill above 5000ft (curently at 4200ft) any ideas

also already changed the pitch of the prop just think she might be a lil rich in the fuel department...also any recomendations as to where i can find the replacment jets?

Ayuh,... Check the color of the sparkplugs to see if it's rich, or lean...

Ya gotta tell Us WHAT carb...
