Need some advice regarding a fiberglass job in my fwd bilge area.
Around 12 years ago I ripped up the cabin floor and replaced the main stringer in the cabin. That cabin stringer terminated at a bulkhead at the stepdown into the cabin and I think there are dual stringers midship under the gas tank. The rear stringers, motor mounts, and transom I redid 4 years ago.
So the stringer held up great in the cabin that I did 12 years ago, but the floor I missed a spot and had some delamination so I ripped it back out. As long as I'm in there, I also removed the small bulkhead under the step down to the cabin. There is a small forward bilge area that I started to inspect before replacing the floor again. Turns out there was a few layers of glass bridging over the V with wood under the glass. The wood was not sealed on the backside. After 30 years, the wood was complete mush in this small bilge area. So I cut everything out and ground down the transitions to get ready to repair and started smoothing the transitions with thickened epoxy. Obviously the wood provides little support in this area so I was thinking on just going with glass and blocking off this area to the fwd bilge from the rear (drain channel runs in the bottom of the V. Thoughts?

I saw something similar in another thread, a little board running along the keel like that. He was told that is structural. I would replace it like it was, but fill in those depressions on either side so they don't hold water.

I'll guess I'll just redo it with fully encapsulated 1/2" plywood and set it up like it was and then still block it off from the bilge in the rear.

I have 2 bilge pumps in the rear and a separate pump in the front. I'm trying to avoid having rear bilge water getting to the front of the boat. I dont have scuppers and do a ton of salmon fishing. So the back bilge water can get a little gross and I dont want it into the cabin bilge area. I will have overflows setup in the bulkheads in the event that there is a major emergency and I need all 3 pumps processing the water.

Getting closer to install. Cut a new piece of 1/2" plywood and shaped it fit.
Coated both sides with West Systems epoxy and laid glass on the back side. Then waited for it to harden and carved off the extra glass. Cleaned off the blush and roughed up the surface. Then put a layer of glass on the other side.
