Re: need some help please with oiler
Jobo,
OB is very correct in his advice if you have an oiler problem. The VRO oiler is supposed to mix with the gas at about 100:1 (50:1 to 150:1 depending on engine requirements). You can safely mix 50:1 AND use the oiler. The idea is that after you purge the air from the oiler system by pumping the oiler primer bulb, you can run the motor, knowing it is getting an oil/gas mix (because you mixed the oil with the gas, about 1 liter of oil to 24 liters of gas) AND if your oiler is working, you will note after a tankful that you've used some of the oil in your oil tank.

The once every 20 sec beep is supposed to warn of low oil. Sometimes the pickup unit and the disc/contacts are out of position or get dirty. You can clean them by removing them and soaking in some solvent. The floats are supposed to raise the disc clear of the contacts, if it doesn't, replace the pick up unit.

As to the bogging down, is it possible that your fuel system is having trouble from the alchohol in the fuel, or you have a cracked or leaking fuel line between your tank and the motor. At some point on some models Johnson put plastic float bowls on the carbs and these warp from the alchohol in the fuels. It is worth a look.

Good luck.
