Need to run without battery/remove charging system 9.9hp
Hello,<br />I have a 1998, 9.9 merc., manual start, 2 stroke.<br />I would like to remove the charging system ( was told running motor without battery will damage rectifier). Question can I remove the leads from the stator to the rectifier and run the motor in this config? ( will cover leads to prevent shorting out stator).<br />Thank you.<br />Called factory and they could not recommend a course of action. <br />Max
