This your new thread. As gm280 and ScottMartzen said, a new thread is the best way to get answers and advice unique to your boat.

Isn't a Tracker Pro V17 an aluminum boat? A tin boat is not going to need gelcoat.

A few photos will help us with giving the right advice.

I am planning the same thing for a different boat.

Wood on Glass recommends this for sealing:
"As others have mentioned, DO NOT use PT plywood anywhere on an Aluminum Boat!!! Ext. Grade will do the job if sealed properly. Epoxy IS the best product to use for sealing but...It is also the most expensive. I have recommended to several members a Old Timers Recipe for sealing wood and many have used it with great success. It's your boat so you can decide which way to go. No matter which sealer you decide to use, you MUST ALWAYS predrill and seal any holes you put in the deck and coat the bolts and screws with a good Marine Sealant such as 3M 4200

Please note his Epoxy is the # 1. Otherwise esti9mate the number of sheets of plywood you will need and make sure it is dry.
