Ok so I got the drive shaft seal under the impeller out & the shift rod seal, So I decided to replace the bearing under the drive shaft seal and have all but destroyed it. So now there is no going back on this decision. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get this stuck bearing (or whats left of it) out, does it come out the top or bottom? should I try heat? its a 1971 rude 18 hp S shaft. please help, thanks

Easiest way to get it out is from underneath using a solid rod of just smaller diameter than the bearing. Tap it out from there. Press the new one in place with a bench press, taking care to press on the flat side of the bearing (rounded size goes in first).
