Hello all,
I have a 1980 35hp E35ELCSM that I have rebuilt the carb on. Can't seem to adjust the cough away with the needle valve adjustment. The motor will cough and die. I can't get the motor to run long enough with the needle valve turned to the initial setting 1.5 turns from closed.
Did my model year incorporate the small plastic funnel looking needle valve bearing that came with the rebuild kit. Not easy to insert and I did not have one when I removed the needle valve, only a small red rubber washer that will fit up against the threads of the needle valve.
If my motor only uses the small red washer does it get reinserted by having it on the needle valve when I screw the valve in?
Any help appreciated because this is driving me nuts.
Thanks,
Rich
