You were bothered by you car getting scratched at 10 years old? Problem lies a little deeper I think.
Nope, that was by request of my grandmother who hated cats. Her car was being scratched and she asked me to get rid of it for her. I grew up working on and appreciating ones right to own a car not scratched by a cat. Since we can't prove who's cat did it, why not just kill the offending cat and be done with it? We call those nuisance animals where I'm from. From a tree squirrel willing to chew your house to a cat willing to scratch your car. I've probably shot a hundred nutria and a few dozen beaver in my life because they were chewing up my fathers boat dock. We called and were told that any animal damaging property can be shot. That's straight from the wildlife in fisheries.
BTW, fairlanemen, you are right on. There are laws protecting us car owners. If I spent 15000 on a new car, you better believe I'll spend a few bucks on antifreeze to protect it.
What some ignorant people here forget is for a cat to be drinking antifreeze on your property, he must first BE ON YOUR PROPERTY! That means YOU as the owner have violated the law and now it's in my hands as a property owner. You don't like it? Keep them inside. If you let them run free, then their freedom may cost them dearly. Oh yea, I think I just changed the antifeeze in my truck and forgot that the open container was still out. Ooops.
