new alarm tone

heard a new alarm tone not covered in oem owners manuel or repair manuel it is on a 90 nitro and a gt johnson150 .. the tone was a short blast about 1 second every 3 to 5 seconds , Just wanted to know if anybody has heard that alarm and know what it means ????

Could be no oil alarm. There're sometimes a little off on the seconds count.

Yeah My Merc beeps were...

Beep Beep Beep over and over was the Oil pump sensor alarm

Solid Steady Beep is an overheat.

Not sure if Evinrude/Johnsons do the same though.

Ya just looked

Oil level below 1/4 level horn sounds for 1/2 second every second.

No Oil / Oil flow blocked is the same 1/2 second for every second.

Temp is Continuosly/ solid beep.

moter was still smoking and tested the vro sensor it seemed a lot faster ..

the bad thing is vro pump runs so lean hard to tell, but when when I test the alarm the no oil tone seemed alot shorter

You could try quickly unplugging each sensor to see what's causing the alarm.
Does your motor have a vacuum switch?
How did you test the VRO, if you disconnected the oil line you should have premix in the tank.
