Glad to finaly be posting here after months of lurking. Tons of great info on these boards, so I hope I can get some of your opinions...
We've just brought home a new 2012 Lowe FM165 aluminum w 60 Merc 4stk. I'm loving the boat but there's one thing that is just bothering me... there are a series of rub marks along the hull on both sides. I first thought that these would clean up easy, but the marks are completely DULL and I can't find anything to get them off. I'm not even sure that there is any shine left where these rubs are. Are these from the rubber roller on the sides of the trailer? Or are these rub marks from being in the water and rubbing dock? I honestly have no idea, but it bothers me to have a NEW boat with rubs that I can't remove. I've got a few photos, ANY OPINIONS?

Call the dealer up and have them take care of it. Take some old socks and put them over the rollers/guides,should take care of the scuffing.

I'm looking at a 10hr round trip to get this to the dealer, anything I can do at home to remove the rubs or is this pretty much like an autobody shop type of job? Nice idea with the olds socks, thanks.

Try polishing compound on a rag by hand to remove the marks......

I would absolutely bend those rollers out a bit...... they are too close.

Nice boat.

Welcome to iboats.

Follow up... $9.99 Meguire's Ultimate Compound, awesome product. A little elbow grease and these marks were gone. Nice glossy black finish, looks fantastic. We'll see if those "non marking" rubber rollers are going to keep marking the sides, if so, I'll seek out some poly rollers and replace. -cheers-
