New boat owner with dumb questions

I bought a 2007 tahoe 5.0 alpha 1 gen 2. I've been going over its issues and there were a few wires loose when I pulled the instrument panel. The blower didn't work and I found both blower wires off the switch along with the hot wire to the ignition. I can't get power from any ignition switch wire, so I'm thinking he was using the blower power for the ignition and the wire was so tight it came off when I pulled the cluster back.

The ignition power goes into a loom and disappears to the stern somewhere. Every hot wire I check at the battery, starter and everything I can find is hot. Now even if I use the blower power it won't crank and something clicks at the engine, but I can't verify it is the starter solenoid until I can find an extra hand.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated

I've been chasing my tail for a few hours and just remembered a buddy of mine was messing with a circuit breaker on the engine. What a friend, he never reset it. Boats are a pain, but people are becoming unbearable

I believe red is battery power to the dash. Then purple is power from the ignition switch all the way to ignition powered engine components. This chart is for a carbureted V6, I don't have a V8 manual. Wire colors, circuit breakers and the like should be the same. You should post model and serial numbers so more detail can be stuck in here...

My issue was resolved by resetting the main breaker on top of the engine.

I am pretty sure I need to go to the dealer and order a tech manual for this thing. I'm thinking the engine manual is separate from the drive, but I'm wondering if I need a specific drive manual or if the #14 alpha gen 2 manual online will suffice.

You can get the manuals here. I use #14 for a '92 Gen 2. Might be a newer one but that one will do for everything but the motor. I never used the motor manual.... for me, a small block chevy is a small block chevy. Been working on em longer than Mercruiser been using em in boats.

There is just too much to these fuel injected engines for me to figure things out easily. I just realized I didn't mention it was a 5.0mpi. It was probably 2 years ago when I decided to replace lifters in a 5.3 Chevy and found out you have to pull the heads to get at the lifters. The SBC is dead and has been replaced by L this and LS that, so I need a manual.
