new boater

I recently bought my first boat. 18' starcraft with 125 evinrude. Engine idles fine but won`t run at wide open throttle. Any ideas???

You might have the wrong prop. A lower pitch prop will run at a higher RPM.

Try cleaning the high speed jets on the carburetors.

Basic health check to begin with.
Compression
Spark
Fuel delivery
Spark plug condition

A good carb's service as ezeke suggested is a very probable issue.
Did you get a test ride in the outfit before you bought it ???
Did you do any checks on the motor before you bought it ??
Where in Ontario are you ??? anywhere near me ??? If so you can bring it over if necessary.

I got the boat, motor and trailer for a grand. I think I got a good deal.
The boat is in great shape. The motor is a 1982 115hp o/b evinrude, run good up to about 2/3 throttle but misses at WOT.

Clean and service the carb's and check the fuel pump output.
