Hello everybody , tomorrow I start putting the carpet back into my Starcraft bow rider. I removed the original carpet that was run really wide on the sides , as much as a foot or so. Has any of you that already did this to your Starcraft ran the carpet that far up the sides or just a few inches on the sides. I will be running carpet back behind the side panels and nothing would show with the smaller overlap. Just wondering if I am about to screw up by not putting it back in the way it came out, but then again I don't have the nice open deck that the original builders did either and carpet ain't cheap.

If the carpet edges are going to be covered behind the panels then I wouldn't bother trying to glue the carpet to the sides and would leave it short.

thanks for the reply watermann-- for some reason I keep getting kicked out in the middle of a post so I won't respond any further.

Yeah the forum has been glitchy here lately and sometimes completely offline. I'm not a carpet guy but using vinyl is similar in how you lay it out.

watermann - I agree about the vinyl , I had it in the 1999 Starcraft Fishmaster 196 that I owned a few years ago and loved the fact that I could just turn the water hose on and wash her down but when I looked at it , it was just tooooooooo expensive for me to use on this one.

Sounds like your set on carpet but check into the Nautolex vinyl at Defender, very reasonable pricing.

I will check it out for the next one , I already have the roll of new carpet laying in my hallway . I plan on restoring and selling a few more boats to make my way to a Starcraft Islander or one of the cabin boats they made. This is my second but I only average one a year .
