:confused:I am at the stage in the rebuild of my Blue Fin were I am getting ready to put in the floor.I am alittle confused after reading a few post here on what to do.I am using 3/4" exterior plywood and I want to seal it and use "Durabac" for the final coating. The durabac is a polyurethane and I'm not sure what to seal the wood with. Also if I seal the wood with resin and hardner do I need to use cloth or mat? I would think the 3/4" ply would be strong enough and am not so sure the the resin would'nt crack apart without the mat or cloth.I have also thought about using "Gluvit" to seal the wood but not sure how the durabac will bond to it. I have a day or two to decide what to do for tomorrow morning I'm going to gluvit the rivits and seams then put the stringers back in her.Hope to be ready to cut the deck out by Monday then pre drill the holes and start sealing it. One other problem that I'm having is getting pics of the rebuild on here.I got them in photobucket and tried to resize them but they still say they are to big????? Any help with these problems would be appreciated....thanks for the great site everyone

Re: new deck question

I can't help with the flooring Q but maybe I can lead you in the right direction for the pic Q.

Go to Non Technical Q's on the main forum page. The top 3 threads are about photos. 3rd one down helped me out (never looked at the other two).

BEFORE you add photos to Photo Bucket, set the widow that says 'reduce to' to 640x480, then choose file/pic. When you add pics to your post, use the IMG code. Good luck.

Gluvit used on wood would break your wallet!! Use resin, fiberglass cloth on the 3/4 and you will be fine. It will not crack apart and 3/4 is tough stuff. be sure to seal the edges.

I believe you can get away with just resin if it's epoxy. If it's poly you'll need to add some cloth.

Re: new deck question

Has anyone ever heard of "steelply"? It is used for concrete forms. Its made they claim to withstand moisture and not separate or break down.It is made with fiberglass in it. But I am thinking of a couple draw backs.....1) its heavy.2) I can only find it 1/2" thick.3) its expensive..its 83.00 a sheet. not bad if it will work though. I don't want to use carpet on the deck.I would like to go with "Durabak".. My original thought was 3/4 exterior plywood sealed with epoxy resin. Will the resin be good enough or do I need to use cloth on it as well?If the cloth is a must should i go with 1/2 plywood?
