Here are some more pics. Maybe it will give you some ideas as to what some more of the original stuff looked like.

Re: New Guy - Old Boat - 1964 Texas Maid

Just to let you know, I don't know if the seats are the original kind that went in it or not, but because the boat is so deep, they work great. You can also kind of see the windshield in some of the pictures. Mine is made of plexi... not sure if that is the original material or not, but it works at 35-40mp with no issues. The motor that is on this boat is a 196? merc 65hp. It has been on the boat for as long as the previous owner can remember... I'll post some pics of it, maybe someone can give me a better idea of what I have. Anyhow, the boat, motor, and trailer I bought with titles, for .....drumroll..... $277.00.

I bought a battery for the boat, and hooked the motor up to the provided tank, gave the motor a couple of pulls (because the electric starter is lying in the splashwell) and it started right up. (motor has been sitting for almost 13 years)

One of the controls are broken.. so I need to find out if it's a universal item, or if it's going to be a hard to find thing.

jat- Thanks for the pictures. I think your boat is the Fiesta, a 16' which is exactly the same as mine except 2' shorter. Yours looks like it is good shape. Have fun!

Sorry for the hijacking... didn't mean to offend. I actually thought it would be nice to see other boats from this manufacturer together... maybe not. I actually found out my boat is actually called a Tahiti Fiesta. Here is another photo for you.... it shows original paint and accessories from the Texas Maid brochure.

Arnie,
Great boat! I just bought a '61 Tahiti that should be making it's way up from Texas to Chicago shortly. Has original paint and windshield, inside is gutted like yours.
BTW, the Fiesta windshield will fit, I have a '60 TM brochure that shows the same beam for both. Get the oringinal windshield if you can, the TMs had a plexi windshield with a molded lip at the bottom that would be difficult to duplicate.

Thanks for posting pics, I'll try to post a few of mine when I figure out how.

Nice way to welcome a newcomer TD.

Actually, I think most of the pics JAT posted helped to show what Arnie's boat might, or could have looked like, especially the windshield. Not really a 'hijack', in that he didnt change the topic to ask his own questions, and was just trying to help Arnie out.

Those are both fantastic boats! I hope they both continue to post pics and dialogue, either in one thread or two :)
