Re: New guy with questions

If the 4.3 is in running condition and the outdrive is in good shape I say you got a good deal for $900. However, based on the condition of the interior I'd be really surprised if you didn't have deck/stringer/transom rot of some sort to contend with. The exterior looks nice and I bet you'd be surprised how much of the color some elbow grease and the right product would being back to the red. As far as knowing the exact model, I don't see how that will impact your restoration of the interior. The parts and materials you'll need are not model sepcific. Boats aren't like cars where you can order a door panel for a 1991 Chevy Cavalier or something though I sure wish they were!! Good luck with your project.

you got more than you paid for. you were happy. who cares what it is called. OEM interior parts are not available, start watching ebay, craiglist, iboats marine store, for interior upgrade parts. or contact a local car seat cover dealer, and have them work on it. or break out the sewing machine and do it yourself.

I got a great deal on B2B seats like you have there. They usually list for around 300 a seat....I got a set for the same 300. Wise seats, plastic bases. check http://akmccallum.com/ you cannot order online yet but you can call and they will ship. just let them know what colors your looking for.

You can buy aftermarket back to back and jump seats with a pattern very similar to the original seats. They will go on sale for $125 ea, if you watch for it. You can buy some solid color matching marine vinyl at BoatUS and make a new motor cover. it will be a solid color, unless you want to stich two pieces together and make it fancy. The side panels can also be fabricated out of the sheet vinyl as well.

Thanks for the replys guys! The floor seems solid I am a big guy at 250 and walked every inch of it and no soft spots. Any products you recomend to bring the red back? I was thinking wet sanding it, buffing it and a good wax

Getting the oxidation off is a drag. I have heard some use 1500grit paper, but I would be afraid to sand thru

There have been extensive reviving gelcoat in the restoration section. You should be able to get some ideas there.
