Re: new here sombody help with throttle control please
I am thinking about buying an 85 bayliner with85 horse outboard the owner took the throttle control off of the boat to put it on another one, was wondering if anybody can help me by pointing me in the right direction on where to get one or at least tell me what i need. Like will any throttle control work?
Eh, depends how much your gonna pay for the whole boat, around here there are quite a bit of bayliner nay sayers. Controls can be hundreds of dollars after cables,installation, and wires... Boils down to if the price is appropriate with them missing... Take a real good (and I mean REAL good) look at the transom and for any soft spots on the deck, those are notorious for rot, may even be worth it to get a surveyor to inspect the boat... I will most definately be using a surveyor for my nexr purchase, ive seen far too many people with horror stories of rotten decks,transoms, and stringers to not use a surveyor.... Just my 2 cents...
