New impeller, still no telltail

I recently installed a waterpump kit on a 1988 40hp Yamaha. The telltail water was not existent before this change, and continues to only dribble afterwards. The engine does not seen to overheat as I have been using it like this for awhile.

Have checked the rubber hose from the block to the telltail and it is free of obstructions. Removing the rubber hose at the block also only shows a dribble of water coming out the fitting at the block.

Don't know what to check next?

likley there is crud partially blocking the block fitting, sometimes compressed air in this area will break it down, sometimes not.

glad to help. if you run in sand a lot or your outboard is getting on in years this will happen infrequently. there is a product some swear by called salt away, might help a bit to prevent it from happening again
