Hello everyone. So I read and see that some would recommend boatus, some NBOA, some recommend others.

I tried my own homeowner's, they don't do it. My broker quoted some @$700. Another broker at my local boat show quoted $800, BoatUS at $650, NBOA at $380. Coverage is pretty the same:

- agreed value $35k, trailer $10k
- $300k liability
- uninsured: $300k
- with towing
- with driver mishaps.

I know people been praising boatUS. But NBOA too. So question is:

- if I go with NBOA (I think AIG underwrites it, with Chartis policy), any negatives going against them?
- anything else I need to make sure it's covered before buying it?

I have the policy details but haven't read it yet. I will tonight :)

Thank you

Re: New insurance policy

We have ours with Progressive. They insure motorcycles, jet skis and boats.

For our new boat, declared value of $35K plus trailer, premium is under $400 per year with a $500 deductible. Since you're in the Bay Area (hi!) it's Mike Felder Progressive, in Concord.

(And yes, we have had a claim on the policy. And that's all I have to say about that). ;)

Thanks Sandi.

I have decided to go with NBOA.
