Hello, I am new to the forum but not to two strokes. I have built/restored 3 vintage 2 stroke bikes. I am currently working to repair a 1982 25 horse Murcury outboard Motor. It will run but at the present it has fuel problems.
Question is, where is the best place to order the parts needed for the carb. The sites I have been to says no longer avabale. Just like with the vintage bikes I am sure there are places to get aftermarket parts etc;.

I have not yet read all of the info on this site. It looks to be a great source of imfo. Thanks for all and any help. Kawasakitriples on the Bayou.

Thanks for the quick reply's. I went to boats.net, no go for the gaskets etc;. I like to work on these old motors the hardest part is sometimes finding what you need. I am lazy when it comes to going on the road and looking for parts. I much perfer to order and pick it up at the front door. I will look at the above mentioned site and or keep looking. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum. I can't answer your question. but you gotta love a two stroke.

I just sold an 86 yamaha RZ350.. had it for years. (along with other two strokers..)

Good luck finding what you need!

No, I promise it is not. I am not a computer expert, but I do try. The Mercury 25 HP is a 1982 #6153235. I do not see that on the above site. Looking for the gaskets for the bowl, and fuel pump etc;.

I am not into this kind of jokes. Thanks for the help.

Just for starters I know I need the bowl gasket. I may have to rebuild the fuel pump but not sure at this point. 1982 Merc 25 HP.

Different motor, 1995 25 HP Murc. I am looking for just the fuel air mix screw. I did find the kit for this motor, not just the screw.

You need the serial Number off the motor to buy anything, to get the right parts.

Re: New Member (Parts)

The carb gasket kit for this model does not have bowl gasket in kit you have to order a repair kit it get it. Just order the aftermarket from iBoats part # 18-7212 as it has ALL gaskets and $30 cheaper than Merc...

Re: New Member (Parts)

Don't get it. I just rebuilt a 25hp 1983 last year. Walk into the merc parts dept. and bought it. I do believe the bowl gasket came with it. 3 different kits. one comes with just carb gaskets, one with carb gaskets and fuel pump kit, one with both and all the plugs spring etc.

Re: New Member (Parts)

Thanks, I intend to do a little work on it this week. I will call them to make sure I am ordering the correct parts.

Does anyone here find that the jets/needles etc are just as good as OEM?
