New Member with complicated question

Sorry to post this as a first question! Last year I bought a new Larson 274 with the 8.1 and I love the boat. I had the trailer and boat weighed, the boat full of gas and water only. The whole thing weighed in at around 10,800 lbs. The trailers gvwr is only 10,400 lbs. The tires are only about 200 lbs (each) from being at their max load. I am very concerned that the trailer is overloaded and they should have given me a triple axle trailer. I had a blowout last week and am concerned about the chance that the second tire will blow, if it happens again. Where do I find information on trailer regs?

They should have given you a trailer with more capacity. What is the weight of the trailer alone? Irregardless, its way to close the max rated capacity of the trailer. Given the size and weight, why didn't they give you a triple axle? Morons!

Check your tire manufacturer as well. I just replaced all my Carlisle tires with Towmaster tires due to two blow-outs in one week. Sometimes, the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) uses NON-radial tires for their boat trailers so it might be a good idea to replace them with a radial tire or some other tire better-suited for trailering. I've heard the Goodyear Marathon tires are pretty good too. Best of luck!

Go for the Towmaster tires and keep them at their max inflation. Or even slightly higher, someone else may have more info on that.
