New Merc 25 hp idle speed

My new four stroke bigfoot idles at over 2mph on 16foot smokercraft lodger series aluminum fish boat. Idle speed set at dealer at 750rpms in gear.. Can i safely lower the idle somewhat and still get oil to the cam. This is my first post after watching iboat forums for many months with great interest and really appreciate all the great info.

You'll probably need one of those trolling plates that bolts to the antiventilation plate and has a flap that blocks thrust. You might try lowering the idle a bit, but it probably won't help slow you by much. Better to leave that alone.
