New Orleans Flood Timeline

A friend of mine who lives in Metairie (suburb of New Orleans) sent me this link. It is a shockwave animated timeline of the evening before, during and after Katrina. Its pretty interesting and neat to learn how it all happenend.<br /><br />If you watch the animation, my friends house was destroyed when "Parts of Jefferson Parish also flood as rainwater leaks through an unstaffed pumping system."<br /><br />Crazy huh? The only reason his house was destroyed is because they evacuated the person who is supposed to run the pumping system.<br /><br />Police, fire, doctors all had to stay... why evacuate the pumping system operators? I lived in N.O.<br /><br />I can say this. N.O. employees KNEW, but were only interested in themselves, bar, a few.<br /><br />This is NOT news.<br /><br />I was "shocked" to see that the most crooked Sheriff in America-Harry Lee, is still alive, much less in power.<br /><br />Pathetic. They vote in Nagin, again. I guess we know the mindset of the constituants.

My friend was one of the 'few' - he fled to Florida before the hurricane hit... he knew what could happen and evacuated his family.<br /><br />The rest... well, he said it himself - the morons got what they deserved.
