Re: New Outboarder for my 1965 Eurocraft Mars
Many years ago I had a 15 foot run about which had a tumblehome transom which was for the short shaft 15 inch outboards, this boat had a moderate bow , somewhere in it slife someone made up a big alloy bracket for the transom and it had a Johnson V4 85hp, this damn thing went through the water sideways like a crab, it was highly dangerous in choppy water, I nearly launched it to the moon a couple of times, I decided my life was important to me so I swapped it for an old 70HP Chrysler Skier 3 cyl, much better choice, speed dropped down to about 30mph rather then charging along like a drunken crab at near 60mph, is more better?
