Re: New Owner 1992 OMC Cobra 3.0L -Questions
Friday I took her out and she ran fine at WOT, which is still only 4100 rpms, then would be hard starting after I shut it down for a few minutes to wet a line. I said it was enough, I am going to take her out of the water. While I was trying to dock she would die as soon as I put it in gear, but was fine in neutral. I took it home and thought about it, I was a bit taken back. My wife said to drop it off at the marina and have someone look at it.
I dropped it off at the marina, and asked when would they get a chance to look at it, they said, probably by mid-week.
They think it maybe bad gas. They had a huge influx of boats in with ethanol issues.
While it is in there, I told them to change the oil in the outdrive and give it a good look through.
Before I give them the oK to fix anything it is going to cost me $250.00
So if they determine it is bad gas, I need to bring in containers so they can drain it into and I have to dispose of it.
