I just bought a new Sweetwater 22' Pontoon boat and realized that the pontoons are 23" in diameter rather than the 25" I thought it had. Can anyone tell me if this will affect the performance of the boat. I do not want to ski just pull a tube and cruse around lake. The boat has a 90 hp Yamaha.

Well, if you paid xtra for the 25" toons i'd scream- But the 23" will do just fine - You'll never notice the difference.

I have a 2011 24' sweetwater pontoon with 23" tubes and love it . Yesterday we had 7 adults and 4 kids plus gear and beer for a day of fun and had no issues with the almost max weight with the 23" tubes .

We owned a 2006 Sweetwater and I can tell you, there is a difference between 23" tubes and 25" tubes, if there wasn'st why in the heck would builders make them.

There aren't that many people out there who buy 23" tubes anymore, that being said, what you have will work just fine. You can expect some water over the front with big waves, that is a big reason why most people go to larger toon sizes.
There is more bouyency with larger toons and usually a little more speed also.

As others have said they will work fine, it probably will sit a bit lower and your capacity will be a bit smaller but it will do fine.

We still sell a decent number of 23'' boats, maybe 10%-15% but most are 25s, I think someone makes a 26 too but alot of that is just to be different and stand out from the crowd.

We make a 32'' but they are elliptical so they are 32 wide and 25 tall so the boat doesn't sit so far off the water but you get the extra capacity of the 32s and they hadle alittle better.
