Your going hog wild on the boat stuff shopping, like a man possessed! I get most of my boat parts from marine engine dot com. Check the motor's starboard mount for the data plate. If there is none, take some good pics of the motor and post them up here and maybe on the Johnson motor forum.

well both my boats "need" a lot. Plus I am VERY short on funds so its get it while its cheap or forget it. I will be back down their on wednesday I will look for the plate. These are "hard to pass up" deals at a fraction of normal price. I was at the point of using "regular" carpet and replacing it seasonally if need be rather than pay the asking price for outdoor carpet! best price I found was $22 + $16 shipping per yard. OUCH. $38 a yard so this 10+ foot length would have cost me about $130 so when he said $25. Oh heck yes I took it :)

there is a lot of stuff I want but simply can not afford. Little by little. try to find the deals :) in the spring I want to get one of those marine stereo kits I see on ebay from pyle. Love the bluetooth access so no wires no water exposure and the cheap price. :)

how do I find one ie what do I search for? I think I know a place that rebuilds automotive alternators. same type or thing?

Yep the place I use is called Madison Generator, they rebuild starters, alternators, anything electrical, for autos, trucks, boats, and such. I found taking these electrical marine items to a boat shop was just way too costly. And new marine electronics are very very expensive too.

Yeah that's a great way to do it alright. On my Sea Nymph I started buying parts for the motor and rebuild 6 - 8 months in advance of the start date. When it came time, I had a huge pile in the garage ready to go.
