Re: New 420 Rib Final Updates

Re: New 420 Rib Final Updates

Was not happy with the engine performance at tight turns, excesive cavitation due to the transom being 46 cm height with a Tohatsu engine that works perfect with 40 cm heights, so in pursuit of cruising perfection decide to cut the transom down. After six hours work, $ 50.00 in materials & handlabor and ten beers...

With a very precise surgical operation, have lowered my transom to 40.5 cm. re arranged the open cut with fiberglass, resin and paint, front, rear engine plates edges have been raised to match same transom final height, now much thicker than before. Engine is now integrated into transom's cut matching exactly engine's width, nothing to center, just place and secure.

Sea Rider - The pic of the bow anchor and rope...what is the red thing called your wrapping your anchor rope around? Looks ideal for what I want rather than just throwing it loose in a milk crate.

It's called the line organizer, it's used by skin divers, it's very practical, just unroll & secure the amount of line you need. Much better that having a line bucket, forget about unwanted entanglements and besides saves you a lot of bow space.. If not store available, you can make a plastic or woorden one. The overall idea of all modifications done so far is to have the simpliest and most spacious rib carrier like configuration.

People are asking how rope organizer is organized to remain simple & effective :

1-Make a 1 meter U rope, pass both ropes through (A) eyelet secure with individual tight knots, secure continous rope with a tie & wrap after knot, wrap all lenght rope CCW on organizer.

2-Make a long rope loop and pass it through (B) eyelet and hook on C.

3-Pull tight rope (D) secure rope's end on anchor's SS chain. Secure first rope's extreme on sib's bow super d'ring or rib's bow U ring.

4-Place thimbles, wire rope clamps & shackles all SS on both rope extremes.
