Sorry to hear you aren't happy with it. It certainly looks great from where I'm sittin'!

That's it...looks great but poor workmanship in some areas. To name a few:

1. Re-used the old 40 year old hardware that came with the original seats including screws, hinges and brackets.
2. One seat cushion has already come loose from the seat base -- screws pulled out.
3. Loose seat panel -- not attached to frame properly.
4. 1" diameter hole in seat base carpet.
5. Loose vinyl under seats -- not stapled to the frame as it should have been.
6. Plywood splitting between layers in a couple spots.

Bottom line -- I paid a lot of money for this job and expected more attention to detail than this.

Alrighty Then!!!! I don't blame you!!! That does NOT sound right to me either. Only problem I see is...If you did not explicitly request replacement of the hardware and wood bases then I bet they'll say that is what they customarily do if they feel they are reusable. My experience has been If it's not in Writing, It didn't happen! I know that sucks but... It's what they do. The Holes and loose vinyl is totally not defensible on their part. On any count, I wish you luck!!!

I did specify and got new lounge seat bases and lounge and rear jump seat frames, but not rear jump seat bases despite my asking if I was getting all new seat bases and them answering "yes". I did not specify new hardware for the seats...I just assumed that was implied when you say "new seats".

BTW, these things are just what I have found so far more or less by accident in the few days I have had the boat since they finished the job. I have not even been able to use it because they also did not re-install the shifter correctly when they re-installed the driver's side panel, which I discovered only after hauling the boat 100 miles and then launching only to discover that it was not working properly. In any case, the boat is back now at their shop and I provided them the document referenced above which outlines all the issues I have found so far.

If they are a reputable shop, with the list you provided they should make things right. Let's hope so.

Brutal... I am not sure what you tow with, but with CA gas prices that likely cost you a bunch in gas - not to mention time.

2005 Ford Explorer which gets about 12-13 mpg when I tow. I was going to the lake with or without the boat but I figure it cost me at least an extra $40-50 in gas because I was towing.

My boat was made by Delta Boats in Redwood City, CA. My dad bought it brand new in 1972 and I have owned it since about 2003. I would love to see a pic of your boat.

Except if he started a new thread, then I may not have seen it or realized he was wanting information about a boat that very few people would have or know anything about. A PM in this case might have been best.
