Replacing the flywheel and starter on a Volvo Penta 3.0 GSM-A. When I install the new starter is there anything I need to do to align it? Or, do I just make sure it's on good and tight with lock-tite and the bendix will find it's own alignment with the flywheel? Thanks.

The two bolts right at the bendix area are vertical, going up. There is one near the back of the starter going horizontal.

There are no procedures from Volvo, because if you use a Volvo starter and a Volvo engine, you don't need shims. However, if you have a remanned aftermarket starter, it's whole new ball game.
