Re: new to boats, what should i get?
3hog, just joshin ya.
But I agree, that craigslist boat looks nice, and would do what you want.
Having just left the Seadoos and jets, I would recommend against them, especially if you will use them at all on salt water. But even for just fresh water.
They are finicky, and expensive to repair, and unless it is brand new, will likely require lot of repairs.
And DEFINITELY NOT a two stroke!!!
For example, to do a "tune up " on one of those requires 2 weekends out of the water. One for teardown and ordering parts, then wait a week to 10 days for delivery (seadoo seldom has the parts you need in stock, so you order them online, or they do and upcharge you), then tuesday wednesday the following week you reassemble, and back on the water on the third weekend.
My first tune up on my new boat? Called Glastron, had prop in stock. Told me to go to Autozone or O'Reilly for the rest. They were all in stock too. Got all parts and installed them all in one afternoon. Back in the water the same day.
