New to inflatables, requesting help.

I'm no newbie when it comes to boating and fishing, but I am a newbie when it comes to inflatables. Im a college student with a Mustang, which is why I have to get an inflatable. I live three hours from home so its not like I can just drive down and fish with Dad when ever. Anyways, due to my car size and limiting budget (remember I'm college student who make very little because I only work two days a week at Clemson Musser Fruit Research Center) I have narrowed my options down to two: the Intex Excursion 5 Boat Set--2013 Model or the Sevylor Fish Hunter 6 Person Boat. I choose these because they are within my price range (dont suggest the Mariner, or anything more than my options, as I cannot afford that), both were large, something that I wanted so I would have room for friends and fishing, and so that I could customize them. Also can anyone give me the inside dimensions of each boat Any opinion or suggestions would be very helpful. . . or donations towards my new boat :joyous:

U can find a used mariner or better for cheap. Where do you plan to fish?

A couple of lakes in SC...Hartwell, Waterree, Santee, and Murray just to name a few. And could you please direct me to where you found "mariners or better" in my price range

If you can't get the mariner go for the fish hunter.... The excursion is big and floppy.... The fish hunter should be easier to customize

Hello and welcome. I own a excursion 5 and I really love it. Kind of large when setting up by yourself (and the more you add, the harder it is to setup alone) but the reward of the space is pretty awesome. I hear some people who decided on the seahawk 4 over the fish hunter so you may want to throw that into the mix of choices.

My Excursion 5 measurements are 101.5 x 36.5
Front tip 20 inch wide. 10 inches from the nose, 29 inches wide. About 16-18 inches from nose you go full 36.5 inches. 10 inches from rear, 34 inches wide. 3 inches from the rear, 30 inches wide. And the very tip of the rear, 26 inches wide.

Good luck with you choice. Either way it will be fun.

Saturn makes some pretty decent rafts for the $$$ I am looking into grabbing their new 13ft Pro Fishing Kayak myself once its back in stock! Under $600 - No wonder it sold out!! :facepalm:
