Does it overheat if you continue to run it?
I'd check the water hose that runs from near the thermostat housing at the front top of the engine, along the valve cover to the bell housing.
It might be broken or have come off the bell housing.

not sure if this is what you mean...
If you are running it on muffs and you see water coming out where the outdrive is attached to the back of the boat....that is normal. If it's pouring into the boat, that's a problem.

the bellhousing is outside your boat. It is what the outdrive bolts to. Did you mean to say bell housing?

If it's inside the boat at the transom, then maybe the hose from the transom to the engine is lose at the transom fitting. Can you reach in there? Try to tighten that hose clamp. Could also be the hose is bad or the transom fitting is cracked. The one on my boat is plastic. Let us know what you find. I hope you have the room to see and reach in there.

Not sure exactly where you are seeing the water but I'd also check the clamps on the rubber exhaust hoses that connect the risers to the Y-pipe at the back of the engine.

+1 on that. I would follow every hose and check every hose clamp.

If you mean the "bellhousing" that's at the rear of the motor called the rear mount, you have suffered freeze damage and popped out a core plug behind the flywheel

I think u may be right on that. Boat sat for 3 years but was winterized every year. I have checked all the hoses and they seam to be connected and leak free. And no water coming out my exhaust ports out the back of the transom. I am trying to load a video but having problems

Above and behind the starter - core plug is out behind the fly wheel. Have to pull the motor to get to it.

can i just unbolt from mounts and remove that way? or do i have to pull the out drive off as well?

Have to pull the outdrive, which pulls the drive shaft out of the coupler. Then you can unbolt the motor mounts and disconnect water - electrical and fuel and pull the motor out.

You want the OEM Merc manual. The Seloc is crap. Try here for an online version http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html I'd direct you to the correct manual but don't know what year you have. Probably number 13.

You will need an alignment tool at minimum to reinstall.

Oh, sorry to hear that prognosis. You've got some work ahead of you. Keep us posted there's a lot of help here.
I didn't n mean to belittle you about where the water was coming out. I just didn't quite understand you're original statement.

Just want to thank you all for your help. I dont know why I didnt think of freeze plugs back there. Lol anyways that is what it was. I pulled her out and just gotta get the parts tomorrow. Was fairly easy with the automotive skills I have. Ive pulled lots of engines and this was by far the easiest of them all besides having to make a lift outta some wood and a come-along haha. Thanks again for all your help. Im from the pnw tacoma area so if anyone on here ever wants to meet up and have some fun on the water or ever need some help just give me a holler. Great forum!
