Just registered as a member here. My wife and I just purchased our first pontoon boat. We decided on a 2011 Bennington 20' SLi with a 70 hp Yamaha. We will be taking delievery next week. Its actually the 20' Sli that is in Bennington's 2011 brochure. Its Red and black with the sport graphics. The photo's for the brochure were taken on Lake Norman here in NC. As first time pontoon owners we are pretty excited about our new boat. I look forward to learning a lot here. Thanks!:)

Welcome to iboats.

Congrats on the boat, I am sure you will enjoy it.

It may be delayed by a day or two though, the weather shut us down yesterday and I am sure none of the boats on trailers got out either.

Re: New to this forum

congratulations !
also hello and welcome, this is the most useful, informative, and helpful site for all things boating i have ever had the pleasure of finding on the net.
If properly phrased and placed just about any bit of information about boating can be gleaned here....either from the guys that work on them for a living or from those that played with them for a lifetime......and sometimes those of us in between are able to add something of value as well. A boating info melting pot.

It sure is nice to hear that quaility is important. This was one of the reasons I decided to buy a Bennington.

I am having the Garmin 95 fish/depth finder added to the console as well as another table floor mount/bracket added (centered) on the front right long lounge. I like the idea of being able to move my rear table to the front or to add a second table later. I chose to have all this work done prior to taking delievery next week. You sir can be proud of your product...I am proud to own a Bennington.

I like the shop motto- Every boat is a show boat!

Re: New to this forum

I wish I could afford one too.

They are bringing the company boats back this year so I have a weekend or two lined up with that already, it is an R&D boat that has a couple different things on it they want to see work or break, if they work they make production, if they break not so much.

If I understood correctly it is a 22' ESP with a 225 on it, should be amusing to say the least and the coolest part is, company boat, company gas.

I have taken out a 28' with a 250 Yamaha and a 25' top deck with a 5.7 I/O, the 28 was of coarse moored in a channel so you had to turn the darn thing around every time you docked it and the channel was 10'-15' wider than the boat.

We have made a pretty big move into the entry level boats so next time you are looking at boats check it out, they aren't all $65,000.

Tooned out, to sum up what quaility means to us, we have throw away probably 8-10 tubes,3 of those elliptical, in the last 2 weeks because they had a scratch on them and I don't mean a big nasty one either, just very light scratches about 3''-4'' long.

Quality is the reason we are who and where we are, it sounds kind of corny but it is actually true, we are obsested with building the best pontoon you can buy.

You will love the Garmin too, I got an older one on my boat, color fishfinder and GPS, it is awsome.

5150abf,

Thanks! I really am excited about owning my new Bennington and the quaility that I found in Bennington as a buyer. The fit and finish in quaility and materials used were the driving factors in my decision to purchase a Bennington. A 5 year warranty says alot about Bennington as a company.
