New Tohatsu oil dripping...

I purchased an engine online and when I received the box
there were oil all over one side of the engine and the vendor told me its normal because they drained the oil at Tohatsu when they ship it BUT there are still drops of oil every 30 minutes. I opened the lower case and hopefully its the oil from the factory still draining out not the new oil the dealer put inside.
I also noticed that the oil dipstick is more than full when the dealer here put some oil last week. Is there any way to drained some oil so it will be in the correct level. Hopefully the oil dripping is from the factory oil not the new oil.

I will post a picture here of where the oil is coming from. Its from the small hole under the engine. I opened the case and the hole is underneath the engine not the small holes on the side.
Please help

You have to determine where the oil is coming from and what type of oil it is. It is not unusual for the engine to be turned upside down during shipping. The residual oil that didn't drain out after they test ran it may come out through the carburetor or out through the prop. If some local dealer managed to overfill the crankcase then just drain some out through the drain bolt. Your owners manual goes into this in some detail.

Tohatsu GURU I drained some oil and so far after 1 hour no drip.
The dip stick is in the correct maximum level. The dealers also
installed a10w40 but its not the FWC or Nmma certified. Is the oil ok until my 10 hours oil change or should I change the oil now? I ran the engine approximately 1 hour.

Thanks for your help!!

The oil is fine, but switch over to 10w-30 on your oil change. It defies common sense, but you actually want the engine to run warmer and the 10w-30 will help do that.

Tohatsu guru I brought the engine last week and the dealers said there is a leak in the valve " may be a pinch" I dont know what it means but im just curious why a brand new engine would leak.
The ordered the parts and it will be here early next week.

It's always possible that something was damaged during shipping or assembly. Give me the name of the dealer where you have the engine and I will check into it for you. Also, what model engine do you have?

Tohatsu guru...

I got the engine back today from the dealer. They replaced a gasket for the valve. It looks like an oring. I started the engine and no more oil leak.
I can enjoy the motor again!!

Thanks Guru
