The maxxis trailer tires have some good reviews, but are pricey in comparison to most. Seems they are made in Thailand for the most part.

If your tires are blowing frequently you have:

Under-inflation, which causes the tires to heat up. One of the fastest ways to destroy a tire.
inadequate load rating
or both.

Inflate right to the tire's recommended HIGH in the range listed on its side. There should be "Inflate to XX-YY PSI (XXX - YYY kpa) And another place that says do not exceed ZZ psi (ZZZ kpa)
You want it at YY and don't let it be below XX

Most boat trailer tires are bias ply. These wear faster than radials. Finding radial tires rated for a trailer with high enough load range can be hard.
A trailer needs a stiffer sidewall to combat swaying, so light truck tires are generally a bad idea (and no tire shop will put them on because if they fail they can be sued).

If anyone knows of a rock solid trailer tire, I would like to know. The Marathons, Towmax str, and Carlisle all seem to blow out way too frequently, even when new and the tire pressure checked that day. I use a 225/75/15 in a D or E.
If you're blowing tires that often I think I'd start looking for a cause other than brand of tire.

I rechecked with the trailer rep about where Marathons are currently made. With no hesitation it was "(explicative) China"

Check out Kuhmo Radial 857. They have the higher weight rating in the smaller tire. I bought a set for that reason last year. They have one season on them and 1200 miles so not long enough to rate durability but my trailer pulls good with them and they do handle the weight better. Had Maxis before these. Liked them also but split the tread on one of them at 5 years and 6,000 miles. Previous to that I had the Chinese good year marathons and bubbled the side of one of them at the three year mark and 3000 miles.
