Yeah, right now I'm planning on a restore to factory for financial reasons... I'd play with it and then sell it, and it's worth more as a vintage boat.

If the engine turns out to be completely junk I don't know that I'd be able to get a replacement though, although I'd certainly try to get parts and fix it. Same with the jet unit.

I finally cleared out my shop (mothballed my scratch build project for now) so I'll be moving this thing indoors today (hopefully) before I leave town, and maybe doing a bit of work with the engine on Monday. Got to finish my engine hoist first.

Erik

Edit: Forgot to mention it's had Marvel Mystery Oil in all the cylinders for a couple weeks. I'll try to turn it by hand but I'll probably pull the oil pan and then the heads to see what's what.

I just bought a jet 35 (1966 Buehler Turbocraft ) Yesterday I dont know anything about jet drive though. Think I will drop it in the water tomorrow to make sure it floats and goes somewhere:D. It needs alot of restoration but it does run:>

After further reflection, my Sea Ray needs some work, and it makes sense to do it during this winter since it's the boat I use in the summer the most (at least for now).

So I'm going to sell the Turbocraft if I can, or the engine, and maybe my spare trailer. It should make a great project for someone, or maybe the engine would be good for a hot rodder.

I'm going to put a for sale notice in the classifieds here I think.

Still have this thing, or is it long gone? I have a Buehler down in Mankato...it is quite a trip. Mine has a transplanted Ford 351w truck motor. does 38mph and make glorious noise. :)

Post some pics! I'd love to see one of these working.

Mine turned out to need essentially everything redone... when I finally cut the hull apart, it was rotted underdecks with fiberglass damage from ice freezing.

I sold the drive and motor for about $700 total, as-is condition. Next time....
