Hello everyone! I've recently retired from the Army and am now getting around to all those things I thought I'd get to years ago. Damn, time flies! One of them is to get my Dad's old Evinrude Fastwin 18 operational. It has sat in an unheated storage shed in South Dakota for the last 25 years! It worked great when it was first stored. Never fogged. I could sure use some guidance on where to start. It is a 1958 Fastwin Eighteen S/N 15024-12232w/o electric start. I've ordered an original used 12 page parts manual from ebay. I could use some suggestions on a good step-by-step shop manual (pictures are a good thing). Also, need some recommendations of what would be best to do and in what order, i.e. rebuild carb, water pump etc.. I hope not to have to tear the head apart. To my knowledge the piston is not frozen. I pulled the starter rope once several years ago and it was free at that time. Never pulled the rope after or before that. I also have the orignial fuel tank and hose. Where can I get a fuel tank rebuild kit and does it have a rubber bladder inside? Thank you all in advance.
