Hi folks. I'm from Toronto and I've spent some time on this site getting info and it was very helpful. Thanks to those who operate this site!
Last weekend I purchased a 1985 16' Sunray with a 3L Mercruiser 140hp engine/Alpha 1 outdrive. It was a boathouse queen and has only 150 hours on it. Everything is mint. The canvas looks like it's 2-3 years old, the upholstery is similar. The floor is solid, engine compression is great, gimbal & diaphram is new. I could eat off the engine it's so clean. Oil is clear. Water test was great. It jumps out of the hole smartly and trims up beautifully. The only issue is I can't find any info on Sunray boats other than they appear to have been built in Quebec and went out of business sometime in the 90's. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the engine from the serial # which is A396127.
Wish me luck. I haven't had a boat since I was a kid back in the early 60's. Now I need to figure out an appropriate name for it.
