I live in Arizona, colorado river near Cali and Nevada. I've been checking craigslist around my area with no luck I 've looked on ebay and amazon for control boxes, I've found some that are very similiar but not the exact. In looking for used ones is there like a certain year, model number to search for. Most of the ones that are similiar on ebay has the red plug and/or trim and tilt. Would these work as a replacement. I would even be interested in the craigslist ad in the Lieutenants area to pick up one. thank you

do yourself a favor and just spend the three hundred$$$ and be done it will be a three or a five wire very easy to install!!

I have a feeling that this is probably what we will end up doing.....it's the idea that my kid likes...and he's gonna be putting it in..In taking a closer look at like the teleflex CH1700, it doesn't look like it would work with side mounting it to the side rails of pontoon boat.... Need more of the total enclosed box...

The one i sent you a pic of is for top or FLUSH mount. On any side mount should work granite you may have to build some sort of a base wood are whatever secured to your hand rail and side mount to that. What is powering your boat now Yami, Merc,...? OK I read back on a Johnson/Evinrude will probably be a three wire hook up one ho, one up and one for down. Good luck
