Hey guys, I have been lurking around the forum for days. I found a 1999 VIP Vision with 4.3 liter mercruiser. I feel like I saved the boat because the previously owner was on his way to trashing it. Interior is ruff, butt the engine is strong, good compression, starts easy. The floor is solid with no soft spots and all electrical works perfectly.
Any help on upholstery work, threads, tips, good person to do it around Kentucky would be appreciated. Here are some pictures.

don't know what you paid for it, but you will be changing the manifolds, and those are not made anymore, you will have to get the conversion kit, to go to mainfold and risers, elbows. around $1,000-1,100 in parts. i had the same motor.

Manifold replacement

Manifold replacement

When I first bought my boat and posted some pics tashasdaddy mentioned that I would need to change my manifolds. Does any one else have any more input on how, and why?

I wouldn't worry about it. If someone told me i'd be changing something but didn't tell me why I would just shrug it off. Just run it for whats it worth!

This one will be my first priority . I think I am going to combine the Larson and Crestliner into one boat :D.

I dont know what part of town you are in but I know the best upholstery guy in town is Scotts on Dixie highway he does mostly hot rod interiors theres also a couple boat interior places out on poplar level road south of the watterson . We seem to be collecting a few Louisvillians here Lately I have been chatting with DJ out in Okalona who also just joined recently and is doing a Viking deckboat he also has a thread here in the resto forum .

Heres a link to Scotts website.

Rick, I am in the Stony Brook area of town. You know Louisville is a 20 minute town, therefore be happy to meet up some time.

I have a lady in Bardstown working on my interior. I got a good price....but she is taking her time. aka...you get what you pay for. Thanks for the info on Scotts, I may get him to touch up a few places in the front.

Dang Pond....meaning water feature? Yup got one of those also..can be a pain!

take care and drop a line to me anytime.
