I want to purchase an used boat. I am looking at two boats. One is a 1995 cobia with a 1995 115HP YAMAHA and the other boat is a 1998 Key West with a 1998 120hp Force engine.
Any suggestions on which boat considering the engine? I have heard things about force engines and I am concerned but it is newer while the yamaha is older. Thanks

Unless ther is a HUGE price difference, go with the yamaha.

Yamaha is very good and dependable, my 200hp is 17yrs old and still strong. I use it a lot and it has never failed me. Don't know Force, but like you, I've heard stories.

Both r great motors, but both are a parts play. With the Force,it's parts availabilty.Parts are available for them, but you gotta hunt for a dealer.
Yammy dealer right down the road has the yammy partz, but you otta wait for the slow boat from china, and the cost is higher.

------------------
Time to change my tagline
