I am retiring the 1987 200 Johnson for a 2000 150 Johnson. The motor comes with it's own controls. Will my old tach work? What other items will I need? Thanks in advance.

will it work. yes kinda.
scrap all the old rigging and install new. that way you can take advantage of the newer alarms. half the problems i fight are poor rigging. change it now and enjoy boating.
goode luck and keep posting

Thanks. I will find a new system tach and the appropriate harnesses. I assume the mounting holes will be the same?

I took delivery of the motor on Saturday. It has 4 sets of holes on top and obrounds on the bottom. Which set of holes should I use and will the old ones work? Thanks

The four sets are right on top of one another. I'm guessing they are spaced about 1 inch apart. It is such that one set of thru holes in the boat will allow for the motor to be set at any of the 4 heights. They look like they match the old motor but I am not sure what height I need. Thanks rodbolt, it seems like you are the only one interested in this thread.

I appreciate your involvement Rodbolt. I will take my question to a more interested group.
