Not much to say about the Miami/Buffalo game. Didn't see much of it, was bouncing back and forth while watching other shows. I will say, at the last minute I changed my "pick" to Miami. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Re: NFL - Week 11

And this is back-up QB week-end with four starters out, it's rough this season.

Re: NFL - Week 11

I see Houston had a shootout with Jacks. The Texans must of started the day with a "no way we can lose" attitude....

Going to be interesting to see what happens tonite.....

Vikings had a "bye"............

Re: NFL - Week 11

There's a reason Byron Leftwich is not a starting NFL QB, and we all just saw it last night. He actually throws a bit like Tim Tebow. Todd Haley really had some bad playcalling, too. As Chris Collinsworth correctly pointed out, Dwyer was running great, so why not keep running and throw play action? But for some reason, after moving the ball up and down the field in the beginning of the 4th quarter on the ground, he decided to only throw intermediate passes with over 4 minutes left in the game. Bad job, Coach Haley. (Maybe that's why he's not an NFL head coach anymore? Seeing a trend here???)
Steelers could have used help from people in the stands at QB last night, for sure.

The Bears have the worst offensive line in the history of football.

Re: NFL - Week 11

The NFL's suspension of Ed Reed is ridiculous. 3 hits in 3 years, and he's suspended? How many tackles a year does he make, 100? So 1% are illegal, by today's pitiful rules, and he gets suspended, and loses $423,000? What a joke.
The hit on Sunday night was CLEAN, a good football play, and shouldn't be a penalty. I don't like that team at all, but I respect their players that play the game hard, like Ed Reed. This has gone too far.

I think you better talk to Mike Vick and the poor kid who played for the Eagles on Sunday. They might disagree.
What does the Bear's offensive line have to do with Mike Vick or Foles? Does the offensive line play defense these days?

Re: NFL - Week 11

I missed most of the game. We ended up watching "the Dust Bowl" on PBS. Very interesting. I tuned in at the half and watched very little thereafter. Where was this great Bears D? What little I saw looked terrible. Another pick that I changed at the last minute when I heard this was SF's QB's first NFL start. The second last minute change I made this week and the only 2 losses I had.

My obvious point, was that Mike Vick, Nick Foles, and 1 million people in Philadelphia would probably say their offensive line is worse than the Bears.

Re: NFL - Week 11

To the point, the Bears have allowed 34 sacks this year, worst in the league, yes. Guess who's #2? Philly with 33 allowed. And that's with Mike Vick, who can RUN. The Bears rush for 122.8 ypg, Eagles 121.6. Bears pass for only 176.6, Eagles 240.1.
So you see, statistically, very similiar, both bad. But worst? The Jags only run for 79.5 ypg!

Only if Cutler is still out.

Playing the 49ers is a whole lot different than playing the Vikings. I think the Vikings would like a QB like Kaepernick.

The Vikings took care of SF on week 3. We'll see what Sunday brings. We need Percy Harvin back too. Still up in the air. May decide tomorrow, but i'm not holding my breath...

Tough call, I admit. The only real way to tell would be for Vick and Cutler to trade teams for a week or 2 and see which one gets beat up the worst. Might be a tough call even then. Both remind me of the beating Archie Manning took playing for the Ain'ts. That was tough to watch sometimes.

I was reacting to last night's game. Jason Campbell looked like he was wondering how bad he really wanted to play football after being sacked hard 6 times. Cutler probably wouldn't have been sacked more than 3 times at most because in his 4th season with the Bears, he knows that he WILL NOT be protected and has adapted. Hard to say, though.

Biggest thing last night was finding out that the Bear's dline can't pressure anybody good. Had suspicions earlier that the secondary was carrying them, but all doubt removed. Rest of the season could be harsh.

Re: NFL - Week 11

Yes you can! Batch should have started last week, IMO, and certainly should have come in midway through the game. Down 2 QB's, down 2 WR's, O line still a hodgepodge of players because of injury, Steelers are the walking wounded! Burress was great when he was with the Steelers before ... Hopefully he has learned his "big city" lessons and will be a contributing member of the Pittsburgh community. If not, he won't last long.

Rough week with my Bears and Steelers going down. Hopefully a better week lies ahead!

Yes, indeed they are desperate. He won't get much action, though. Did Hines Ward already file his retirement papers???

Speck, I was disappointed before the game when they announced Leftwich was starting. I trust Charlie Batch to not mess things up. I think they thought Byron was going to give them a performance more like Ben, where Charlie doesn't do that at all. With as well as the line has been run blocking and Dwyer has been running, Charlie is a MUCH better choice at QB. Even if he is "old."

You, me, and most of Steeler Nation agree with your post. Just gotta like Charlie!
