NGK surface gap plug for 856X4L

Can't remember the plug size and Auto Zone can't cross reference it anymore. I like the NGK plug too.

Try napa auto parts. They are the best for getting marine parts. If you have a local marine store they should be able to get them to. Right here in the iboats store you can order spark plugs or even boats.net. If nothing else then clean your old plugs and reuse them until you can find some new ones.

Just curious! Why do you think Champions are better? I ask only because for many years I rode and raced some on a 200cc 2 stroke dirt bike. It used standard electrode plugs but after trying about every plug maker available I found hands down without a doubt that NGK's fouled less. I now use NGK in my 85hp Chrysler but I do understand the gapless plugs it uses are a different animal. Regardless, so far about 15hrs since awaking her on these plugs and no probs....

Champion plugs are what manufacturer suggests on force motors. I believe it has something to do with heat range. NGK plugs are what I use and have had zero problems. No fowling at all.

I havent noticed any performance difference but the NGK is a traditional standard surface gap plug. The champion is a premium racing plug. I prefer the racing designed plug for my high revving outboard

I'm sure this has been discussed to death so sorry if so.. I bought the supposed NGK equivalent of the Champion L20V which is a NGK 2422/BUH. Not sure if there actually is a difference as far as heat range or whatever between the Champions and the NGK's as I just assumed they are basically the same. Does anyone have real info/specs of the heat ranges of the two? Sort of a Coke/Pepsi thing I figured and being as I've had such good luck with NGK previous they got my $$.. I had read that someone said they buy Champion as its an American plug then someone else said the last box of Champions they bought said "Made in Mexico" ... Sort of blows that theory.... But then again I guess Mexico is next door and not overseas.

you dont clean Surface discharge plugs as you will remove the semi condutor coating ..unless of course you have bad mixture problems and they get caked up.. Surface discharge plugs do not have a heat range they are at cylinder wall temperature not the 500-700deg C of the centre electrode of a standard plug

I clean mine all the time. All I do is wipe the ends off with a terry cloth. There is usually enough oil on them that wiping the ends off is pretty easy. At times a little wd-40 or even pb blaster works.
Don't sand paper them off or take the grinder to them off course.

Plug cleaning on wire electrode plugs usually refers to using a proper plug sand blaster ...other methods often produce a higher voltage requirement than prior to cleaning ....hence you dont sand blast surfce discharge plugs.

I clean mine all the time ??? in bed ? at restraunts? in the bath ? ha ha only jokeing
