:) A Utah veternarian received a big surprise from what he was told was a house cat admitted to his office for spaying and de-clawing., according to Yahoo News!!1 the "house cat" turned out to be a 16 week old lynx, at the time the size of a large house cat, but with the potential to grow up to as large as 40 pounds. After working for 40 years as a veterinarian, said Dr. Greg Johnston, "I knew what I was dealing with"!!! ;)

Re: NICE KITTY

I knew a guy who raised a bobcat he found as a kitten out in the desert. I only saw the cat once. He wasn't all that friendly, but was at least somewhat tolerant. The wildness was there and wasn't going to go away.<br /><br />One problem with making pets of wildlife is vaccinating them against rabies---or at least it was a problem when I was in college. Thay may have developed vaccines that work on wild animals by now, but as of the late 80s, it didn't work in a lot of species.

You can't change instinctive behavior in animals. Dogs can bite when angry, cats can scratch when angry. Believe me I have cat scars and dog scars on my hands and arms. But imagine what a big cat can do when it's angry! Remember what happened to Roy Horn during the Las Vegas show he was performing. That cat was raised since he was a small cub.

Brother in law just shot a cat in Utah last week. 176# cougar/Mt Lion, with a bow. He comes home today. Can't wait to see the video and pictures.

One question, hunting Mountain Lions in Utah is legal?

You gotta have a permit. I've seen cat hunters when camping near SLC. They said they are all over the mountains that surround the city. Every year we hear about some cat that is trapped in a window well or treed.

Yes, very legal.<br /><br />Guided cat bow hunt cost him $2500+, plus license, and airfair, plus $20 a pound tip for a cat over 140 pounds. Plus shipping the cat home, plus some huge $ amount to do a full body mount.<br /><br />Google "mountain lion hunt"<br /><br />I think my Bro in law is lying about the $2500 fee. Most places I found on the internet say $3700. My sister is gonna kill him when she finds out. :)
