i have a 03 mercuriser motor alpha one 5.0 it shifts into reverse but no forward when shifted into forward any ideas?

Gee wiz, I think you said, you shift into reverse and it moves in reverse, you shift into forward it it remains in netural, correct?

Shift cable not adjusted correctly
Shift cable needs replacing
Shift cable is not installed correctly
Shifter needs repaired

Could use a bit more info as to what lead up to the trouble and what your seeing

not sure just got the boat check it when we put it into drive propeller would notmove in rev or drive but now it only wont turn in rev.

Go to the stickies at the top of the forum. Loads of stuff there.
But when you have reverse and no forward it could also be the outdrive shift-shaft might be on the wrong spline position.
Easiest quick check is to take the forward end of the lower shift cable off the shift plate. Then push in on the cable til it stops and hold in on it, now have someone try to turn the propeller counter clockwise. If it spins you need to check the shift shaft orientation. If it holds and won't turn you need to readjust or replace the lower shift cable.
